AnthonyNegus

Anthony Negus conductor
Born Buckingham, Anthony Negus studied at the Royal College of Music, the London Opera Centre and Christ Church College, Oxford. Anthony was a member of the Music staff in Wuppertal and Hamburg and musical assistant at Bayreuth before joining WNO in 1976. As a Wagner enthusiast from youth he assisted Goodall on Die Walküre, Tristan und Isolde, Parsifal. From 1987, Anthony assisted Sir Charles Mackerras and conducted performances of Le nozze di Figaro, Così fan tutte, Seraglio, Idomeneo, Die Frau ohne Schatten, Iphigénie en Tauride and Der Freischütz. Most recently for WNO Anthony conducted The Marriage of Figaro, Don Giovanni, La clemenza di Tito, Leonore, Parsifal, Katya Kabanova and Ariadne auf Naxos.

 

Alan Privett

 

Alan Privett director
Alan Privett read English at Cambridge and also studied at Leicester School of Education and at the Architectural Association. He is Longborough’s Artistic Director and has also directed operas at the Donmar Warehouse, for Midsummer Opera, Bermuda Festival, Canterbury and Cheltenham Festival’s, Opera South East and at venues in Europe. 

Kjell Torriset

Kjell Torriset designer
was  born in Norway. He trained at Sir John Cass College, Central St Martin’s London Brighton Polytechnic,  Statens Kunstakademi, Oslo. He is principally an artist, but his work for the stage includes designs for Nasjonaltheatret, Oslo as well as Longborough Festival Opera. As an artist, he has had exhibitions in
London, Stockholm, Oslo, Edinburgh and
Copenhagen.

 

Guy Hoare

Guy Hoare lighting designer
has extensive experience in all performance forms. Opera he has lit include The Ring Cycle, The Magic Flute, Tosca, Hansel and Gretel (LFO); Eugene Onegin, The Seraglio (ETO); Cinderella (ROH Education); Names of the Dead, Venus and Adonis, Lost in the Stars, Treemonisha, The Cradle Will Rock (BAC); The Merry Widow, Simon Boccanegra, Tosca, Così fan tutte (Opera UK). Guy has lit a number of musical theatre productions and has worked for many dance ompanies, regional theatres and in the West End of London.
