Education

At the end of Easter week a number of teenagers spen 3 days at Longborough working with Maria Jagusz and Richard Studer, developing a short performance week based on John Gay’s The Beggars Opera and Kurt Weill and Bertolt Brecht’s The Threepenny Opera.  The workshop gave the young people an opportunity to develop music and drama skills and to work together as an ensemble company. On Friday afternoon they presented a half hour performance.

Below are two photographs taken during the performance.

We are grateful to the Ernest Cook for their generous support of this workshop.

Work Experience at Longborough
We have provided work experience for school students from year 10 and upwards as well as gap-year and university students every year since 1998.

There are places in the opera office, front of house and backstage. This last season we welcomed students of singing, drama and textiles, who helped out in various capacities.  We love having these young people here during the season and are very grateful to them for their part in the development of what we are doing here.
