Welcome to Longborough Festival Opera, presenting high-quality opera in the Cotswolds. The 2008 season will bring back our acclaimed 2007 production of Das Rheingold

This will be complemented by new productions of Verdi’s La Traviata and Janacek’s The Cunning Little Vixen. The 2008 season runs from 11 June to 26th July.

At Longborough, we have a fully-fledged opera house seating 480, complete with an orchestra pit accommodating up to 65 players. It is built in the grounds of our house on the edge of the Cotswold village of Longborough with beautiful views across the Evenlode Valley, and has been included in the latest Pevsner guide to buildings in England. In 2007 the building had a major face lift: a new façade and a new insulated raised roof were added, together with a new staircase and grand upper foyer.

Performances start at 6.30pm* and have a 90 minute interval for picnicking in the grounds or dining in the popular LFO restaurant. There are also facilities for private dining and corporate entertaining.

*Performances of Das Rheingold in 2008 will start at
7.30 pm.

We look forward to welcoming you to Longborough in 2008.
